ECT Anonymous UK provides a confidential listening service to anyone who feels they have been harmed by Electric Shock Treatment (ECT) and to their relatives, carers, friends or advocates.
An information booklet entitled Shock: The Things You Need to Know Before Having Shock Treatment is available from ECT Anonymous. A donation of £2.50 would be appreciated to cover the costs involved
It has taken me ages to locate anyone with any willingness to help people with this type of injury. Please keep up the good work and I also have been unable to contact anyone on the phone number. However it was comforting to read how the person living after treatment felt.
I know I’m not alone in the world now
Phill
Is the book still available to purchase? I spoke with a lady not to long ago on the number mentioned. Keep up the good work.
Ps can anyone have a story page?
Mary
I have been unable to get through to the phone number, Is this service still available. The Government should provide this service or pay those who offer it.
Joan
I remember Winterton, The place was a hospital of death and abuse. It ruined my life with the casual ECT
Thanks keep up the good work
Rob
The booklet is still available.
Hello
I am a feature writer at the Bournemouth Echo newspaper and am considering writing a story about ECT and those who have undergone it.
I hope you will not mind me placing this request on your website but I am looking for potential interviewees from our area, or who used to live here in Dorset who would be happy to talk about their experiences. This could be done anonymously or on a first-name only basis, to preserve anonymity.
Please feel free not to post this, if you deem it inappropriate.
My email address is faith.eckersall@bournemouthecho.co.uk
Thank-you
